Based on our research on Barangay Sun Valley, various reliable sources have provided us with enough information to conclude that the current traffic management system in Barangay Sun Valley has proven to be quite inefficient. We were able to identify some of the more prominent contributors to the traffic congestion in Sun Valley. These include improper road construction/narrow roads, lack of strict enforcement of traffic rules, street vendors along the roads, lack of lanes for motorists, etc. We were able to come up with several proposals to combat these problems and hopefully aid in creating a new and improved traffic system for Sun Valley. Our proposals involve proper road construction, increasing the speed limit, installation of trafficdevices, and more radar guns for traffic enforcers. We believe that this should ease up congestion and make driving in Sun Valley more convenient.
In order to identify the main problems and solutions for the traffic management of the barangay, we used physics concepts such as laws and descriptors of motion. Average, constant and instantaneous speed were used to find the safest new speed limit for roads in different sectors of the community. We decided to place more road signs to remind drivers to follow safety rules to avoid accidents. An example of an accident that involves speed, acceleration, velocity and inertia is a vehicle that is constantly increasing speed and has a sudden change in direction, thus causing the vehicle to go off its path and possibly collide with something else. This collision will create an unbalanced force because the people inside the vehicle will be pushed forward. This is the effect of inertia.
Given that situations similar to this may happen, we created the traffic management proposals to ensure that the rules will not only improve the state of traffic in Sun Valley, but also ensure safety in all sectors of the community. Road signs are to be placed in more places around the Sun Valley and implementation of traffic rules will be stricter. All proposals were made based on problems that we deemed most prominent in the barangay, or the problems that were causing the most inconveniences. We came up with the solutions by considering what would be best for everyone meaning the drivers, pedestrians, homeowners, etc. It was vital that the methods in improving the traffic scheme would eradicate as many contributors to heavy traffic as possible and prevent them from recurring as well. We believe that our proposal has potential in achieving this.
